Feeding Therapy

For feeding struggles, our experts assess and address problematic feeding behaviors using the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach. By integrating posture, sensory, motor, behavioral/learning, and nutritional and environmental factors into treatment, we can comprehensively engage your child in positive behaviors and expand their food repertoire in a playful, stress-free environment. Your child will explore and learn about food, while developing healthy eating habits
to expand their diet and take the anxiety out of mealtime. We have speech therapists, occupational therapists, and a registered dietitian who work together on a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat feeding struggles.

Group Feeding Therapy

Pre School Children Eating Healthy Snack

Many parents worry if their child is eating enough or getting the nutrients they need to grow and thrive. But many of us don’t always know the best ways to get our kids to eat the right foods. This class, co-facilitated by our Speech and Occupational Therapists, uses the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach to effectively assess and address problematic feeding behaviors. By incorporating all body and system functions into our assessments, along with nutrition and the environment, we increase your child’s comfort level around new and different foods by exploring and learning about them in ways that engage and stimulate. We work in small groups, so that children can model for each other (you know, like when your kid won’t eat something at home but suddenly devours it at a friend’s house), and introduce new foods in a playful, non-stressful atmosphere. Your child will first begin to tolerate the new food being near, then move to touching and kissing the food, and eventually tasting and eating. Sign up today to turn mealtime into a positive experience and ensure that your child is getting the food they need to grow and perform at their best!
